WHO ARE YOUR FAVOURITE TV FOOD PROGRAMME PRESENTERS?

I vote for Rick Stein and Janella Purcell.
And do you dislike TV cooking competitions as much as I do?

bourdain was and still is a highlight. Jamie is always happy to act the part of the rustic hipster, despite that not actually being a good thing...

Everything from Iron Chef to Ready Steady Cook owes us an apology for making Time into the commodity of the kitchen, and dragging culinary creativity back into the 50's when Mother had to have dinner on the table at 6 o'clock (or else).

Let the TV chefs master the recipe behind the scenes, then show us the method in a series of logical cuts.

what ever did happen to "Consuming Passions"?

Hi Chris
After 25 years as a chef I couldn t agree more, Rick Stein IS THE ONLY chef worth watching, when he talks about food it comes from the heart.

Totally agree with the notion that the kitchen is not the place to attempt the four-minute mile. On British Masterchef, when the contestants go to work in professional kitchens, I go to make a cup of coffee. Can't stand the rude bosses and the subservient, 'Yes, Chef!'

My favourite, apart from those admirable candidates already mentioned by others, is the lovely chemistry on The Cook and the Chef. If I cook AND look half as good as Maggie when I'm her age, I'll be well chuffed.
